| The Emergency Coordinator:
1. Must be an ARRL member, to qualify under ARRL rules.
2. Must hold a current Section EC appointment defining the geographical
area of the ARES unit's responsibility.
3. Shall promote and enhance the activities of ARES for the benefit
of the public as a voluntary,
non-commercial communications service.
4.Shall assume authority and responsibility for emergency response and
performance by ARES
personnel in his jurisdiction.
5. May appoint Assistant Emergency Coordinators.
6. Conducts/moderates ARES meetings.
7. Coordinates the activities of the AECs.
8. Calls ARES meetings as needed.
9. Collects and disburses ARES funds if no other ARES member is assigned
that duty.
10. With the aid of the ARES Planning Committee, shall draft brief,
specific ARES plans to fulfill
community needs for emergency communication.
11. May recommend Official Emergency Station appointment candidates
to the
Section Manager/Section Emergency Coordinator.
12. Attends meetings with served agencies as needed to assist AECs.
13. Submits required ARES reports to District Emergency Coordinator
and other ARRL officials.
14. If possible, may participate in press interviews.
15. Will define and document the duties of EC on an ongoing basis. |
